The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) is the largest sporting club in the country with over 130,000 members as well as 13 sporting sections across a range of sports. The MCC has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and the most successful stadiums in Australia and the world – the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is more than just a stadium, it’s an Australian icon and a meeting place for generations past, present and future. The MCG is host to more than 70 major events and attracts over three million visitors annually.  Also managed by the MCC is the Australian Sports Museum which has its home at the MCG and celebrates and displays Australia’s rich sporting history.

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Learning & Development Specialist to join our People & Culture team. Based at the MCG, and reporting to the General Manager People & Culture, the role is responsible for providing learning and development expertise, support and services to MCC line managers and employees throughout the club, including our Event Staff. In line with the L&D strategy, it is also responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a range of learning and organisation development initiatives across the entire workforce.   It’s important to note that learning and development opportunities are a true point of difference for the MCC as an employer, so the incoming candidate will need to bring a natural drive and energy around the development of our people.

 

With a continuous improvement mindset, the Learning and Development Specialist will carry out training needs analysis, create and deliver training where required as well as source appropriate external training. This role manages our LMS system from end to end.

 

A genuine passion and commitment to customer service is at the forefront of focus for this role, along with the ability to establish credibility quickly and develop positive and meaningful stakeholder relationships across all teams.  This is a ‘hands on’ role that provides the opportunity to collaborate with others, and showcase your capabilities.  

 

Please note that given the nature of what we do, the incoming candidate will be expected to work some event days during the AFL/Cricket season. As such, flexibility is required.
